Australian pacer Billy Stanlake celebrates his 25th birthday on Monday (November 4, 2019). Hailing from Queensland, the right-arm pacer can easily set the speed gun on fire and has shown glimpses of his talent in a short span of time. Stanlake stands at 204 cm and is the tallest player to represent Australia in international cricket. The tall and lanky cricket burst into the scene with some fiery bowling spells in the 2014 Under 19 World Cup in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The bowler continued his good run in the Australian domestic circuit and made his case stronger for a place in the national side.

Stanlake made his international debut in January 2017 and has represented Australia in ODIs and T20Is to date. The pacer's career was largely affected by injuries which restricted him for cementing his place in the side. However, the speedster has bowled some scintillating spells and has displayed all the abilities to become a tearaway fast bowler. To date, Stanlake has scalped seven wickets from as many ODI matches and 27 wickets from 18 T20 Internationals. Apart from that, Stanlake has also featured in prominent T20 leagues like the Indian Premier League and Big Bash League. 4/8 Against Pakistan in Harare

Stanlake bowled a sensational spell against the Men in Green during the T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe. Bowling first, the pacer went through the Pakistani batting line-up and dismissed the top-four batsmen in quick successions. As a result, the Sarfaraz Ahmed led side could only post 116 runs in the first innings which didn't prove to be enough as Australia clinched the encounter by nine wickets.

3/35 Against England in Manchester

The pacer bowled his heart out during the fifth ODI of Australia's 2018 Tour of England. Defending a peculiar total of 205 runs against the might English batting line-up was a jolting task for the Aussies. However, Stanlake dismissed the likes of Johny Bairstow and Joe Root for low scores and enlightened the hopes of the visitors. Unfortunately, Jos Buttler came to England's rescue and guided the hosts to a one-wicket victory.

4/37 Against Western Australia in Sydney

Playing for Queensland in the 2015 Matador BBQs One Day Cup, Stanlake produced a splendid spell against Western Australia. The pacer made the ideal use of the Sydney wicket and took wickets upfront. Stanlake came good in the death overs too and claimed four wickets to restrict the opponent for just 240 runs. However, Queensland were let down by their batsmen and lost the match by 37 runs.

3/17 Against Sydney Sixers in Adelaide

Another Stanlake's brilliant bowling performance came against the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League 2016-17. Representing Adelaide Strikers, Stanlake bowled with hostility dented the opposition batting line-up. Stanlake's commendable bowling performance made an average target of 153 runs into a gigantic one as the Strikers registered a 48-run victory.

As of now, Stanlake is part of the Australian squad in the ongoing T20I series against Pakistan at home. With the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 being just a year away, the pacer will aim to put up some brilliant performances and seal his spot in the side for the showpiece tournament.
