The mic drop gesture has gained immense popularity on India’s tour to England. First, it was Joe Root who dropped his bat after his century during the final ODI at Headingley, thus the guests lost the series. Indian cricket captain obviously remembered the act by Root and repeated the gesture when the batsman got run-out during the first test between India and England at Edgbaston, England. However, Kohli’s men lost the match by 31 runs and England is one-up in the five games test series.

Now, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to make full use of this opportunity and add its creative element to the incident in a picture where Kohli and Root were engrossed in a discussion after the match. The team of ICC added a mic which appeared to be falling from Root’s hand. The picture was captioned, “Root out #ENGvIND.”

However, the tweet didn’t go down well with the Indians and they trolled the International Cricket Council left right and center. Check out a few tweets below:

#icc #ShameOnYou @BCCI earns more than you, mainly due to d likes of @imVkohli and @sachin_rt and you people are resorting to such meagre acts of lowness! Also @ICC is way below these 3 giants of the cricket world! Both in terms of their monetary worth z well z their #greatness,” read a tweet.

@ICC I would call it a foolish post. BCCI didn't post anything stupid when India defeated England in T20. Personally I would like to shove this mike in your ***. We whitewashed you here in India and hopefully @imVkohli would be able to defeat you in remaining matches. Cheers!,” read a post.

@ICC this is a troll account he doesn't respect other players virat kohli is the best batsmen in this generation,” read a tweet.

“Is it ICC or ECC( English Cricket Council) Or Idiot Cricket Club!!,” read a tweet.

After the match, Virat Kohli slammed the batsmen and said, “Our shot selection could have been better. We definitely need to apply ourselves better with the bat, but England came back superbly. We need to take the positives and move forward. We can be proud as a team to start against England in England the way we have. There is a lot to learn from the lower order in the first innings, Ishant and Umesh got stuck in the middle. Ishant showed character here, Umesh hung around with Hardik again.”
