India will play against Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium today later in the evening and here’s a chance for Ravindra Jadeja to pip Sachin Tendulkar’s record in the match. Sachin Tendulkar happens to the second-highest wicket-taker for India at the Asia Cup with 17 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, has 16 wickets in his kitty at the Asia Cup 2018. Now, here’s a chance for Jadeja to equate or surpass Tendulkar’s record. Irfan Pathan is the highest wicket-taker for India in the Asia Cup with 22 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja has played 12 Asia Cup matches so far and has had an economy of 4.27. The last time, when he played against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup was in 2014 at Dhaka. Jadeja made way into the Indian team after Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur were ruled out of the team due to an injury. He made a comeback into the ODIs after a gap of 14 months. Ravindra Jadeja mentioned that this comeback would be memorable for him. “I will always remember this comeback because I returned to the team after a gap of around 480 days. The earlier gaps have not been this long.” He also said that he would want to perform whenever he gets an opportunity.
