Dinesh Karthik will be stepping into the shoes of injured Wriddhiman Saha for the one-off test match between India and Afghanistan which is slated to happen on June 14 in Bengaluru. BCCI in the press statement stated that Saha will be needing a bit more time to recuperate from the thumb injury. He was under observation by the medical staff of the BCCI and the management has decided to give him adequate rest before the start of the England Test series. Saha's recovery period is expected to be around five to six weeks," read the statement. Thus, Karthik was named as Saha’s replacement.

We are sure that Karthik and his fans are smiling ear to ear with this piece of news. While Karthik is rejoicing his comeback, KKR CEO Venky Mysore has a special message for the team’s skipper. Venky took to Twitter and wrote, “Heartiest congrats DK for being recalled to the India test side! Glad sheer hard work & performance has been noticed. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy!! #rooting4uSkipper! @DineshKarthik @KKRiders.”

In another tweet, Venky wrote, “To me this is a testimonial to his fitness, performance and motivation to stay in contention to play for India. This unique record has to be celebrated and serve as an example to never give up! Best wishes DK! @DineshKarthik.”

Dinesh Karthik led team KKR, did really well in the IPL 2018. The team lost the Qualifier 2 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.  The right-hand batsman, in IPL 11 scored 498 runs from 16 matches with an average of 49.80. His highest score was 52 runs. Talking about Karthik’s test career, he has played 23 matches so far and has scored 1000 runs with one century and seven 50s.
