India will be travelling to Australia soon for the three T20, three ODI and four-Test series. The Indian team will be leaving soon and right before the series has begun the war of words. Sourav Ganguly and Steve Waugh have resorted into a war of words and have reminded us about the old rivalry between the two teams. Waugh took a jibe at Ravi Shastri who recently during the tour of England claimed that the current Indian side is the best in the last 15 years and said that he knew the statement would have been made to boost the morale of the side. Ravi Shastri vs Sourav Ganguly Continues, This Time Over Prithvi Shaw's Batting Style.

In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, he said, “Look I have played against some great Indian sides and I am not sure that the current side is better than the ones we played against. I am not really sure but probably not a great thing to say as it puts extra pressure on the team. Once they start losing, they will get a lot of criticism for that.” The former Australian captain said that Ravi Shastri could have kept the comments to himself. Steve Waugh also went on to praise the Indian captain Virat Kohli.

The incident turned into a war of words when Sourav Ganguly criticised Australia for not being a good enough team without the presence of Steve Smith and David Warner. “This is like the Indian team not having Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. It's a huge factor. It's a great moment for Indian cricket. This is their best opportunity to beat Australia,” said Sourav Ganguly at an event.

India will play the first T20 match against Australia in Brisbane on November 21, 2018. MS Dhoni has been dropped from the T20 side and Rishabh Pant has stepped into his shoes.
