While several former cricketers have suggested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to boycott the match against Pakistan at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which will be held in England from May 30 onwards, former India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer wants the game to go ahead as planned. In fact, Farokh Engineer wants the Virat Kohli-led side "thrash the Pakistanis at Old Trafford for our jawans.” India and Pakistan are scheduled to face-off on June 16 as part of the tournament. India Lose by Not Playing Pakistan in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Says Sunil Gavaskar; Urges Imran Khan to Act.

Apart from it Farokh Engineer has said that he is unhappy with his “friend” Imran Khan’s attitude. "I am hugely disappointed with my friend Imran for not showing the slightest remorse towards our brave jawans," Engineer was quoted as saying by Mid-Day.

The former wicketkeeper believes that if India vs Pakistan cricket match is cancelled it "would disrupt the World Cup and harm this wonderful game.”

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) will meet tomorrow, February 22, to take a call whether India will play against Pakistan or not. As per various reports, the two-member CoA is divided on whether India should play the World Cup match against Pakistan. Apart from Farokh Engineer, Sunil Gavaskar suggests that India should not boycott the World Cup match. "Who wins if India decide against playing Pakistan in the World Cup? And I am not even talking about the semis and the finals. Who wins? Pakistan win because they get two points," Gavaskar told 'India Today’.

"India have so far beaten Pakistan every time in a World Cup, so we are actually conceding two points when by beating Pakistan, we could make sure that they don't advance in the competition. (But) I am with the country, whatever the government decides, I am with it totally. If the country wants we shouldn't play Pakistan, I am with them," he added.
