As the Indian women’s team were battling it out in the middle playing against Sri Lanka in the third ODI at Katunayake Ground, five to six people were asked to leave the ground due to suspicious activities. The Sri Lankan cricket authorities asked the Indian origin individuals to leave the ground as they were seen using their phones constantly during the course of the match. The Sri Lankan authorities suspected that the men could have a link with bookies. Mithali Raj sets a record 

The men were sent to for inquiry and they said that they were informing about match back home. As per the local officials, the police inquired them to check if they had connections with bookies. “They were seen talking on their mobile phones throughout the match. When questioned they said they were informing those back home on the game,” explained the official. However, this is not the first time when the viewers were asked to leave the field. Last month also a few of Indian and Pakistani nationals were asked to leave the stadium.

Talking about the three-match ODI series, India already won a couple of games before entering the third one. However, Sri Lanka won the last game by three wickets and ended the series with 2-1. Mithali Raj continued her dream run by scoring a blistering 125 run off 143 balls. Her knock came from 14 fours and one six. Smriti Mandhana scored a half-century off 62 balls. India made 253 runs and in reply Sri Lanka made 257 by losing seven wickets.  The ODI was a part of the ICC's Women's Championships which will be the qualifiers for the 2021 Women's World Cup.
