The ICC Cricket World Cup is just a few days away. The mega-event will begin on May 30, 2019, and the first match will be held between England and South Africa at the Oval. While Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni and Shikhar Dhawan are season campaigners having played two- three World Cups, there are a few other players in the squad who will represent the Indian team for the first time in the mega-event.  Ahead of the World Cup 2019, let’s have a look at the faces who will be playing the first World Cup of their careers.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul will make an appearance for the first time in the World Cup 2019 in England. The 26-year old had a represented India in the U-19 World Cup 2010 along with the likes of Mayank Agarwal. But this, time, the fans will bank on him and will hope that KL continues to dominate the opponents like in the IPL 2019.

Vijay Shankar

Now, Vijay Shankar’s selection in the World Cup 2019 team proved to be extremely controversial as he was selected in place of Amabati Rayudu. Vijay Shankar has so far played nine ODI games for India.

Kedar Jadhav

Over the last few months, owing to his consistent performances overseas, Kedar Jadhav has bagged a spot in the team for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. However, owing to his injury, the CSK batsman is doubtful for the World Cup.

Hardik Pandya

With his batting and bowling prowess, the Indian all-rounder has booked a berth for the World Cup. Pandya had been a part of the team during the Champions Trophy but will be playing his first World Cup in a few days to come.

Jasprit Bumrah

Along with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah will handle the pace department of the Indian cricket team. Virat Kohli will be banking his hopes on Jasprit Bumrah as he truly a world class bowler.

On many occasions, Kuldeep Yadav has rescued the Indian team with his killer Chinaman spells. The spinning department would rely heavily on this youngster who plays the World Cup for the first time in his career.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzi is yet another name who will play the first World Cup of his career. The 28-year-old has so far played 41 ODI matches for India.
