Mumbai Indians are the defending champions and will be looking to clinch yet another title. The new Sardar Patel stadium will have a seating capacity of 1,10,000 and will be bigger than Australia’s Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The stadium is being built at the cost of Rs 700 crore. As earlier reported, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking to inaugurate the stadium in March, and it will host an exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI. IPL 2020 Scheduled to Begin Early? Sports anchor Vikrant Gupta during his show Sports Tak, while replying to a fan’s query said, “let me tell you one thing, the final of the upcoming IPL season will be played in Ahmedabad. Although we do not know the official dates for the match but the IPL 2020 final will be most likely played in that stadium having 1,10,000 seating capacity.”

However, as per IPL’s policy, the defending champions get the hosting rights of the final. So, Wankhede Stadium could once again host the final, but reports of Motera Stadium hosting the summit clash cannot be ruled out as well.
