Oman have been the surprise package in the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers. The Zeeshan Maqsood-led side beat hosts UAE and Hong Kong comfortably with their bowlers restricting the opponents under 110 runs in both the matches. Bilal Khan and Fayyaz Butt took three-fers in the first game against UAE, while Aamir Kaleem and Khawar Ali reversed roles and took three-wicket hauls in Oman’s last match against Hong Kong. With the bowlers stepping up, the batsmen have had little to chase and strolled to victory in both the matches.
For Ireland, Paul Stirling have been in sensational form and has hit half-centuries in successive matches. Andrew Balbirnie also chipped in with a well-made 70 from 53 deliveries in the eight-wicket victory over Hong Kong.
