KKR knocked out SRH in the 2017 IPL with a five-wicket win in the eliminator contest in the rain-marred game. When the game was stopped due to heavy rain, KKR were in a safe position eventually winning the game by seven wickets on DL method.

David Warner scored a brilliant 126 in just 59 balls to power SRH to 209 runs batting first. The mammoth total was always going to be a challenge for KKR, but when Robin Uthappa was on the crease, there was hope for the visitors. In the end, they put on 161 to go down by 48 runs in a fairly one-sided game.
