KL Rahul has been in the spotlight for a string of poor performances in the ODIs and T20Is and thus has not been a part of the Test team for South Africa’s tour to India. As of now, the Indian opener has been playing for Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019 and his poor stint with the bat continues even here. After winning toss, Jharkhand elected to field first and asked the home team to bat. KL Rahul after facing 51 balls made 29 runs as mentioned above. He also hit one boundary and batted with the strike rate of 56.86. It was Anand Singh who got the Indian opener’s wicket. Devdutt Padikkal slammed 58 runs from 83 balls slamming seven boundaries. Manish Pandey scored 52 runs along with Pavan Deshpande who made 70 runs. With this, Karnataka made 285 runs on the board.

Krishnappa Gowtham was the one who snapped five wickets for the home team. From 7.5 overs bowled by Gowtham, he gave away 43 runs and his economy was 5.49. Shreyas Gopal snapped a couple of them and out the visitors in deep trouble. Saurabh Tiwary was the only one who could go beyond 40 runs but made way to the pavilion while he was seven runs away from getting a half-century. Jharkhand got bundled out on the score of 162 runs and the hosts walked away with a massive win by 123 runs.
