The stadium, set to be a key venue for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, began construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on April 22, 2026, following its announcement on March 19, 2026. It is designed to be a world-class facility, initially seating up to 5,000 spectators, and with plans for expansion to 12,000 by 2027 and 15,000 by 2028. The Knight Riders Cricket Ground will host a total of seven matches, including LAKR's first three home fixtures of the 2026 MLC season, between July 1 and July 5.
