Rohit Sharma played a vital role in helping India win the third Test match against South Africa in Ranchi as he brought up a double hundred when wickets kept tumbling from the other end. Rohit Sharma made way to the pavilion after scoring 212 runs and broke a plethora of records. With 529 runs in three Test matches the Mumbai batsmen fitted well in his new role and made way into the Top 10 of the ICC Test Rankings. Rohit Sharma is placed on number 10 with 722 points. From three games, Sharma scored hit 176, 127, 14 and 212 as India whitewashed South Africa 3-0 across Vizag, Pune and Ranchi. Ajinkya Rahane who made a century along with Sharma also jumped spots to feature on number five of the points table. Virat Kohli who was just a couple of points behind Steve Smith lost points and is now trailing by 11 points.

Talking about the last test match in Ranchi, Virat Kohli and men crushed the opponents by an inning and 202 runs. Rohit Sharma also walked away with the Man of the Series award.
