A few days ago, Delhi Daredevils bowler Kagiso Rabada was ruled out due to a back injury. It was said that bowler would be out of action for three months. A few minutes ago, Delhi Daredevils’ spoke person informed that Liam Plunkett, right- ram pacer from England will step into Rabada’s shoes. Plunkett has featured in 13 Tests, 65 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 15 T20 Internationals for England so far.

This will be Plunkett’s first stint in the VIVO IPL. He was picked from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) list. Talking about Rabada’s injury, back then Proteas team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au, “Kagiso has been diagnosed with a lower back stress reaction which will rule him out of cricket action for up to three months.He will need a month’s break from all physical activity before commencing with a rehabilitation programme to get him ready for the series against Sri Lanka in July.”

The official account of ICC also revealed about Rabada remaining away from cricket. The post read, “No. 1 Test bowler @KagisoRabada25 has been ruled out for up to three months due to a lower back injury, with South Africa hoping for him to return for their trip to Sri Lanka in July.”

Rabada was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 4.2 crores. The other pacers from the team include Mohammed Shami, Chris Morris, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan. Delhi Daredevils will start their IPL campaign on April 8 against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali and the Gautam Gambhir will handle the reins of the team.
