Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran led Afghanistan to win their eighth consecutive games in the T20Is as they went on to hit seven sixes in seven balls at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. After winning the toss, Zimbabwe elected to bowl first. It was team Afghanistan who got early setbacks as they lost Hazratullah Zazai and Najeeb Tarkai on 13 and 14 respectively. But Rahmanullah Gurbaz stayed firm but just fell short of seven runs before scoring a half-century. But Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran who continued with 107 runs and even smashed seven sixes in seven balls. From 16.3 to 17.3 the scoreboard read 6,6,6,6,6,6,6. This helped the team reach a total of 17 runs. In reply, Zimbabwe could only score 169 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Fareed Malik and captain Rashid Khan snapped a couple of wickets each. Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib scalped a wicket each. With this, Afghanistan continued to dominate the T20I format as they walked away with  28 run win over Zimbabwe.

Najibullah Zadran walked away with the Man of the Match award and said, “I am very happy, I play a lot of cricket here and enjoy batting in Bangladesh. Thanks to the skipper for giving me a chance to bat up the order. I love the shorter formats. The wicket was slower when I walked in to bat, so we targeted the last 3 to 4 overs.” Talking about the series, Zimbabwe has remained winless so far in the tournament. Earlier it was Bangladesh who sealed a three-wicket victory over Zimbabwe.
