As many as 14 bowlers have taken a hat-trick in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL). Interestingly, there have been 17 instances when a bowler claimed a hat-trick in IPL. Barring 2015, almost in every season of IPL, a bowler has taken a hat-trick. Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in IPL, which he apparently claimed in the inaugural season of the league. In the last edition of IPL, we saw as many as three bowlers take a hat-trick. And interestingly, two of those came on a single day. IPL 2018 Complete Schedule

After Samuel Badree, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), took a hat-trick. Gujarat Lions’ bowler Andrew Tye playing in his maiden IPL game claimed a hat-trick as well in the second match of the day. Interestingly, Rohit Sharma, who captains Mumbai Indians, in 2009 edition of IPL took a hat-trick against the side he leads now. He achieved the feat while playing for now defunct Deccan Chargers.

When it comes to most hat-tricks in the history of IPL, leg-spinner Amit Mishra tops the list. The spinner has thus far claimed three hat-tricks. His first came against Deccan Chargers when he was playing for Delhi Daredevils. Interestingly, his next two hat-tricks came while playing for Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Surprisingly, Yuvraj Singh apart from Mishra is the only bowler to claim two or more hat-tricks in the IPL.

Here’s the full list of bowlers who have taken a hat-trick in IPL:
