Jasprit Bumrah became the joint-leading wicket-taker for India in T20Is as the enigmatic pacer dismissed Dasun Shanaka with a slower delivery in the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka in Indore. The Indian pace-merchant achieved this prestigious feat in just 43 matches. The 26-yer-old produced a magical delivery to get rid of the Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka and went at the pinnacle. The speedster is now tied with Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal who also have 52 wickets in 46 and 36 wickets respectively. This was Bumrah’s first international game since September 2019 and the pacer showed no signs of rustiness whatsoever. India Vs Sri Lanka, Cricket Score 2nd T20I Match.

The right-arm pacer got the better of Shanaka with a brilliant slower ball which the batsman failed to read and his stumps were dislodged. For only the second time in his T20I career, Bumrah bowled the first over of the match and the pacer started off the proceedings brilliantly. He didn’t allow the Lankan openers to open their arms and came back in the death overs to showcase his magic again.

Speaking of the match, Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Indian pacers justified the decision and restricted the visiting side for mere 142 runs in the first innings of the match. Other than Bumrah, Shardul Thakur took three wickets while Kuldeep Yadav and Navdeep Saini got two wickets apiece. The Indian batsmen are supposed to chase down a mediocre total which means Lasith Malinga and Co will have to put on a brilliant performance in order to cause an upset.
