A few days ago, we told you that the Jharkhand State Cricket Association is all set to inaugurate Dhoni pavilion ahead of the third ODI between India and Australia which will be held tomorrow in Ranchi. Many expected the local boy MS Dhoni to inaugurate the stand. But the former Indian captain has politely declined to be a part of the inauguration saying that he belongs to the stadium.  Inaugurating Dhoni Pavilion would make him feel like an outsider. ‘MS Dhoni Pavilion’, South Stand of JSCA Stadium to be Named After Former Indian Skipper (See Pics).

“During our last AGM on August 18, 2017, it was proposed that the South Pavilion will be named after MS Dhoni. Then people sitting in front of the dressing room can view MS Dhoni pavilion. The north stand is named after Amitabh Chaudhary,” Chakraborty told IndianExpress.com. “We were deliberating whether to open it on 8th March. But when I asked MSD, he said: “Dada mein toh isika hissa hu. Ghar ka ladka apne hi ghar mein kya inaugurate karega? (I am a part of this ground. How can a person inaugurate something in his own home?).” MS Dhoni has been received a roaring welcome in Ranchi. In fact, he even took Rishabh Pant and Kedar Jadhav for a ride in his luxurious Hummer.

Talking about MS Dhoni he has had a mixed start to the five-match ODI series against Australia. In the first game, Dhoni scored a half-century in Hyderabad and led the team to the finishing line along with Kedar Jadhav. In the second game, he was dismissed for a duck and this was the first time in nine years that Dhoni was dismissed for a duck in the home series.
