Even MI skipper utilised the condition and played well to score 55 from 48 balls to provide his side with a comfortable win. Apart from him other Mumbai batsman Suryakumar Yadav and Quinton de Kock played well, where former scored unbeaten 46 from 27 balls and latter scored 30 from 23 balls.

The fate of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was in the hands of Mumbai Indians as if they would have lost the match, KKR would have made it for the playoffs. KKR, SRH and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) finished at 12 points, however, SRH made it to the playoff due to the best Net Run Rate amongst the three teams.
