Next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) might be a few months away but the official social media handles of the teams are in action even before the tournament. In recent times, many IPL sides were seen getting involved in a funny banter on Twitter and now Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) who have joined the party. In 2019, the finals of IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) saw a nail-biting encounter and in both the matches the margin of victory was one run. However, they posted a collaged image of SMAT winners Karnataka and an IPL Trophy. It certainly didn’t go down well with Mumbai Indians, who defeated Chennai Super Kings in final and won IPL 2019, and they didn’t held back in taking a sly dig at KKR. The side posted a picture of MI side posing with the trophy and asked KKR to feel free to use it. The Shah Rukh Khan-owned side also acknowledged MI and wrote “Appreciate the image @MiPaltan! KKR Acknowledges

Mumbai Indians won the IPL title four times which are most for any side in the tournament’s history. While Kolkata team lifted the trophy on two occasions. Auctions for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league will get underway on December 19 and the tournament is scheduled to start on March 23. The tournament will be followed by the ICC Cricket World Cup 2020. So, many players around the world will eye to make a mark in the prominent league and seal a berth in their national side for the showpiece tournament.
