The opening pair KL Rahul and Murali Vijay departed early in the game by scoring 2 and 11 runs respectively. Virat Kohli got out on 3, Rohit Sharma who looked set made way to the pavilion after hitting a reckless shot. Ajinkya Rahane could not even touch the 15 run mark. It was only Cheteshwar Pujara who fought hard against the pacers and made 123 runs from 246 balls.
