The first test match between India and Australia began today in Adelaide and it turned out to be quite bad for the visitors. At one point in time, it looked like the ghosts of England just returned to haunt the Indians in Australia. The opening pair KL Rahul and Murali Vijay departed early in the game by scoring 2 and 11 runs respectively. Virat Kohli got out on 3, Rohit Sharma who looked set made way to the pavilion after hitting a reckless shot. Ajinkya Rahane could not even touch the 15 run mark. It was only Cheteshwar Pujara who fought hard against the pacers and made 123 runs from 246 balls. Hitting seven fours and a couple of sixes Pujara took India to a respectable score. Wickets continued to fall from one end but Pujara stood tall. However, it was Pat Cummins’ direct throw that put a full stop to the magnificent innings. Josh Hazelwood bowled a length ball and Cheteshwar Pujara ran for a risky single. Cummins who was standing nearby aimed at the stumps for a direct throw despite not being in full control and this marked an end to Pujara’s innings. Virat Kohli's Fall of Wicket Video: Usman Khawaja Takes an Unbelievable Catch to Dismiss the Indian Captain During IND vs AUS 1st Test Day 1.
