The Indian Test team seems to be in turmoil at the moment. Except for the momentary spark that was seen in the third Test match at Nottingham, the Indian has collectively failed against England in the ongoing five-match Test series. And, it seems the former Indian greats are in no mood to hold their words back, especially Sourav Ganguly!

Talking, to a TV channel, about Rahul Dravid’s role as a batting consultant of the Indian team, Sourav Ganguly said that Dravid had agreed to it, and accepted the offer. Ganguly said, “Rahul Dravid had been asked to become a batting consultant, and he had even agreed. But then he spoke to Ravi, and I don’t know what happened after that. So it’s difficult for me to say why Rahul Dravid did not become the batting consultant.

The former Indian skipper slammed the Indian Head Captain after their epic loss in the third match at Nottingham. Regarding Ravi Shastri, Ganguly had recently said, “Regarding Ravi Shastri, he has to be held accountable for the results along with Sanjay Bangar regarding why only one batsman is performing whereas others seem to have taken backward steps. Unless these questions are answered an overseas series win in the three countries looks impossible for India," he said

For India, only Virat Kohli has shown stupendous batting form in the ongoing Test series. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have blown hot-and-cold throughout the tour. Other than that, no other batsmen in the team have failed to make a significant contribution to the team.

India’s only shining armour on tour have been its pace quartet. The fast bowlers have improved considerably, in the last two years, and their performances on tour have been a testimony to it.

India will take on England in the fifth Test, a dead-rubber, starting from September 7. Will the Indian batsmen step-up or will the Test match end in a similar fashion as it has always been in the last many more years, overseas.
