Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets to register their fourth win of the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018). Meanwhile, this is RCB’s fifth defeat of the season and they continue to lag behind on the IPL 2018 points table. Chasing 176, KKR reached the target in 19.1 overs with opener Chris Lynn scoring unbeaten 62 off 52 balls.

KKR’s chase got off to a decent start with openers Lynn and Sunil Narine and posting a half-century stand. However, the rain stopped the for sometime and after the break, Narine fell to Murugan Ashwin, who was playing his first match of the season. You can watch RCB vs KKR Video Highlights here.

Robin Uthappa along with Lynn then took KKR forward with a 49-run stand. Uthappa too fell to Ashwin as RCB sensed an opportunity to pull back things. Few overs later, Nitish Rana was retired hurt and Andre Russell was dismissed on the first ball. At this point in time, RCB had managed to pull back things.

However, Lynn and KKR skipper then took their side close to victory with a 32-run partnership. Karthik was dismissed in the penultimate over, but youngster Shubman Gill hitting the winning boundary on the first ball of last over to take his side to victory.

Earlier, put to bat RCB, who were without AB de Villiers, did well to post 175. Virat Kohli was top-scorer for RCB with 44-ball 68. For KKR, Russell picked three wickets.
