Rohit Sharma and Kevin Petersen voiced their support for saving Rhinos on social media on the occasion of World Rhino Day 2019. While Rohit Sharma shared a long message to bat for Rhinos’ conservation, England cricketer Pietersen shared a photo with the animal on his official Instagram account. Both the cricketers shared the posts to mark World Rhino Day 2019.

Talking about Pietersen, the 39-year-old animal lover shared a photo in which he was seen standing with a rhino. Talking about the safety of the wild animal, he thanked some organisation who work for their safety. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma called for everyone's support for the preservation of Rhino. He mentioned in his Instagram post that Indian Rhino is facing the threat of poaching and habitat loss and we should not let this species fade into extinction. India's limited-overs vice-captain Sharma had also launched #Rohit4Rhinos campaign earlier, to build awareness for the need to conserve the Greater one-horned Rhinoceros, popularly known as Indian Rhino. Sharma had also informed in a Twitter post that 82 per cent of total 3500 Greater one-horned rhinos live in India. He had also urged for support to save the animal.

Peitersen, on the other hand, is a well-known animal lover. The South Africa-born sportsman has always batted for the safety of animals, Rhinos being one of them. He has also raised voice for illegal killing and poaching of animals in South Africa, and also took initiative for their safety. He also made a documentary titled Save This Rhino earlier this month. His Instagram profile is full of his photos with animals, giving an insight into his love for animals.
