It was Rohit Sharma who stole the show in the second T20I game against Bangladesh which was held at the Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot. The Indian stand-in skipper brought up 85 runs as India chased a total of 153 runs on the board. Slamming six fours and an equal number of maximums, Rohit Sharma got past the record of MS Dhoni for slamming most number of sixes in the T20Is as a captain. MS Dhoni had slammed 34 sixes in one calendar year as an India skipper in T20Is. India Vs Bangladesh, Cricket Score 2nd T20I Match.

Whereas, Rohit Sharma now has 35 sixes in the T20Is as a captain. The Hitman also owns the record of most number of sixes in a calendar year across all formats. In 2018 Sharma had slammed 74 sixes whereas in 2019 he has 66 sixes in his kitty. The Hitman also holds the record for hitting the most number of sixes against Bangladesh. Sharma has been in quite a terrific form and his innings had played the role of a catalyst for the Indian team to win the game.

While speaking about sixes on the Chahal TV, hosted by leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, Sharma revealed the mantra for hitting sixes. “When I hit three consecutive sixes, I tried to go for six maximums. But when I missed the fourth one, I decided I will take singles," said Rohit while speaking about his three consecutive sixes which he hit against off-spinner Mosaddek Hossain. "You don't need huge body and muscles to hit big sixes. Even you (Chahal) can hit sixes. Power is not the only thing you need to hit sixes, you need timing as well. The ball should hit the middle of the bat and your head should be still. So, there are a number of things you need in order to hit a six," he added.
