But this did not go well with some Indian cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir, who disagreed with such ICC rulings. All these three cricketers pointed out their opinions regarding this ICC rule. Mentioning that some ICC rules need to be amended, Rohit Sharma wrote, “Some rules in cricket definitely needs a serious look in”.

Controversial Rules!

Yuvraj Singh, who recently retired as an international cricketer, congratulated England over the victory but cited that he doesn’t agree with the rule. “I don’t agree with that rule! But rules are rules congratulations to England on finally winning the World Cup, my heart goes out for the kiwis they fought till the end. Great game an epic final !!!! #CWC19Final”, the 37-year-old cricketer wrote.

Yuvi Dislikes ICC Rule!

Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir also opined his contradictory views on the ICC rule saying, “Don't understand how the game of such proportions, the #CWC19Final, is finally decided on who scored the most boundaries. A ridiculous rule @ICC. Should have been a tie. I want to congratulate both @BLACKCAPS & @englandcricket on playing out a nail biting Final. Both winners imo”.

Un-understandable Rules!

The New Zealand vs England World Cup 2019 final was a thrilling game which ended in a tie. New Zealand scored 241-8 while opting to bat first and England also reached 241-10 while chasing. The match went to super over where both the teams again scored an equal 15 runs. Since Eoin Morgan-led team scored more number of boundaries in the match (26), they were acknowledged as winners.
