The bonhomie between Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli needs no introduction. The duo shared a cordial relationship during their childhood, and have been part of record partnerships during their school days. Adding another chapter to their benevolent friendship, Tendulkar has invited Kambli to be a part of his cricket academy which is aimed to unearth young cricketing talents.

Sachin Tendulkar has invited Vinod Kambli to be a part of his teaching academy which he has recently launched in collaboration with English county Middlesex club. Named as the ‘Tendulkar-Middlesex Global Academy’, the initiative aims to spot fresh talents across the country.

Sachin Tendulkar was quite upbeat to have Vinod Kambli on board. Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Tendulkar said, “Vinod and I have played together from the time we were in school. When we met recently, I told him about my project, and Vinod readily agreed to contribute. I am delighted to have him on board.”

Sachin who is on a trip to Bhutan talked about his chemistry with Kambli. Tendulkar said, “Having Vinod on the cricket field with me will definitely bring back some very special memories.” Sachin Tendulkar Visits Bhutan, Wishes Luck to Cricket Team and Shares a Beautiful Picture on Twitter!

Vinod Kambli, the emotional persona that he has, was quick to accept the opportunity. Kambli said, “I immediately said yes when Sachin discussed the idea of coaching together. It's a great opportunity to go back to the maidans with him and re-live our days there. I hope to teach the kids when Achrekar sir taught us when we were their age. I thank Sachin for showing faith in me.”

There will be several talent-hunting camps, the first of which will take place at DY Patil Stadium, in Nerul from November 1 to November 4. The second camp will be organised at MIG Club, in Bandra starting from November 6 to November 9. The age-groups for the camps will be between 7 to 17, and 13 to 18.
