Pakistan finally broke their 11-match long losing spree against England yesterday at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham as they went on to beat England by 14 runs. The victory obviously sent a wave of joy, amongst the fans as Sarfaraz Ahmed and team had suffered a humiliating defeat against West Indies as they lost the game by seven runs. Needless to say, Shoaib Malik’s wife Sania Mirza was also elated with the team winning the game as she posted a tweet where the tennis star said that the World Cup got more interesting. PAK beat ENG by 14 runs. 

“Congratulations to Team Pakistan on bouncing back the way they did and being as unpredictable like it always is !!! @cricketworldcup got more interesting than it already was," read the tweet from Sania. Team Pakistan had posted a mammoth of 348 runs. Mohammad Hafeez was the highest scorer of the team as he scored 84 runs from 62 balls and also walked away with the Man of the Match award. In reply, England lost early wickets but Joe Root and Jos Buttler gave the team little hopes as they scored 107 and 103 runs respectively. Wahab Riaz snapped three wickets for the Pakistani side, Shadab Khan chipped in with a couple and Mohammad Amir also snapped two. In the end, the team fell 14 runs short of victory. Sarfaraz Ahmed and company will next face Sri Lanka on Friday at the Bristol County Ground.
