Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) spinner Shreyas Gopal took Indian Premier League 2019’s (IPL 2019) second hat-trick. Earlier in the season, Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) took the first hat-trick of IPL 2019 against Delhi Capitals. In a rain-curtailed match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Gopal achieved the milestone. Gopal now becomes the fourth bowler to take a hat-trick while playing for Rajasthan Royals. RCB vs RR, Highlights: RCB is officially out of the IPL 2019.

Before Gopal’s effort, Ajit Chandila, Pravin Tambe and Shane Watson have claimed a hat-trick while playing for Rajasthan Royals. Gopal’s hat-trick came in the second over of the five-over contest. The spinner first removed RCB skipper Virat Kohli and then on next two balls dismissed AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis. All three batsmen were caught.

With only one over allowed per bowler, Gopal finished with figures of 3/12. It was his first hat-trick in the IPL. Gopal has also taken a hat-trick for Karnataka against Haryana while playing in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 2018/29 season. RCB Loses Tic-Tac-Toe Match Against RR; Fans Troll Bangalore.

Meanwhile, Gopal is now second on the list of most wickets this season with 18 wickets from 13 matches. Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada is on top of the list with 25 wickets from 12 matches.

The match between RCB and RR was called-off after rain interrupted the second innings. Both the teams were handed one point each. RCB are now out of contention for a place in the playoffs while RR have some hope left.
