South Africa wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock took a stunning catch to dismiss Virat Kohli off the bowling of Andile Phelukwayo. In reply, India lost early wickets in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Indian captain Virat Kohli. Kohli, who has faced issues on delivery moving away around the off stump, reached for a delivery which he ended up edging to the keeper.

Earlier, South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. However, Indian bowlers in general and Yuzvendra Chahal in particular snapped four wickets to break the back of South Africa's batting. Jasprit Bumrah took the first two South African wickets to fall. The Proteas scored 227 and India are chasing 228 to win the match.
