Virat Kohli Hits Century No 42 During India vs West Indies 2nd ODI in Trinidad

Indian skipper Virat Kohli completed his 42nd hundred in the ODIs during the India vs West Indies one-day international in Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. Virat Kohli also achieved several landmarks during the match against West Indies. He also became the fastest batsman to score 2000 runs against any opposition. Kohli got to the landmark in just 34 innings. India captain Virat Kohli on Sunday also shattered a 26-year-old record when he surpassed Pakistan's Javed Miandad for most runs by any batsman in ODIs against the West Indies. Kohli was 19 runs shy of the landmark when he came into bat in the second ODI against the West Indies and he overtook Miandad's tally of 1930 runs with a single in the fifth over bowled by Jason Holder.

This was Kohli's 34th ODI against the West Indies while Miandad had accumulated his runs from 64 matches. Kohli also surpassed Sourav Ganguly in terms of runs in the ODIs and is the number two run scorer for India in the ODIs after batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

After the rain washed first ODI, India vs West Indies second ODI match on Sunday was also interrupted due to the rains. This is an important game for both sides as the team winning the match will gain an early advantage in the three-match series.
