Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was all set to play county cricket to prepare for the upcoming England tour, but he suffered a neck injury during the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018), which saw him cancel the deal with Surrey. Kohli is now undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to lead the side against Ireland late next month. The Indian captain will undergo a fitness Test on June 15. Meanwhile, Kohli uploaded a video on his Twitter account and gave a brief about is rehab.

"Hey guys, lot of hard work going on and the rehab is on. Just doing what I can do best and whatever I'm allowed to do at the moment. A shout out to all you guys. Keep working hard and keep at it. Hard work is the only way, hard work always pays off. Have a great day, cheers," Kohli said in the video.

Kohli will also miss the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on June 14. He had initially pulled out of the Test match to play the county cricket. Kohli had a dismal tour of England in 2014 when he managed to score only 134 runs from five Test matches and averaged poor 13.40. Though the right-hander has improved a lot since then, which was evident during India’s recent tour of South Africa. Regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world, Kohli is expected to do well this summer as India face-off England in a five-match Test series apart from three T20Is and as many ODIs.
