As Virat Kohli is breaking records after records with ease, his comparison with great Sachin Tendulkar is obvious. Tendulkar referred often as ‘God of Cricket’ continues to own many batting records even though he retired long back. Tendulkar has 51 centuries in Tests and 49 in ODIs against his name. While Kohli, who is fast catching him, has so far registered 25 Test and 39 ODI centuries.

Last year in October, Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs as he broke Tendulkar’s record. While Tendulkar took 259 innings to reach the milestone, Kohli achieved it in 205 innings. It was not the first time Kohli broke Tendulkar’s record. He has surpassed Tendulkar on many occasions and now will have his eyes set on other records as well. Sachin Tendulkar vs Virat Kohli: Sreesanth Picks his Favourite Cricketer, Watch Video

Kohli is just 11 centuries away from going past Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. And given the form Kohli is in, by the end of this year the Indian cricket team captain could well break it as well.

It is not just the stats, Kohli’s match-winning abilities is something that makes him modern day great. While Kohli continues to show how great he is with the bat, some still believe he was long way to go to catch Tendulkar. And some also think that he may not even reach Tendulkar’s aura given the two played cricket in different generations. UNBELIEVABLE! Latest to join the Kohli vs Tendulkar bandwagon is S Sreesanth. The former Indian pacer, however, believes that there is no comparison between the two. Sreesanth spoke to us in an exclusive interview and delved why there is no comparison between Tendulkar and Kohli. “There is no comparison. You cannot compare god of cricket to a human being,” he said.

Sreesanth said that he respects Kohli for whatever he has achieved so far but Tendulkar remains Tendulkar. “Everybody calls him Sachin bhai but I address him (Sachin Tendulkar) as paaji for a reason. I respect Virat for whatever he has done but Sachin paaji can never be replaced or can never be compared to any other new or old cricketer. Sachin Tendulkar for the next 1000 generation will be someone who gave hope to the small cricketers like me never even thought that I could play club cricket,” said Sreesanth.

Sreesanth is not the first and only cricketer to say that there is no comparison between Kohli and Tendulkar. Many former cricketers and experts have also echoed Sreesanth’s views on the Kohli vs Tendulkar debate.
