The first day of IPL 2018 Player Auctions on Saturday has been an interesting affair. On the second day today,   Left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has been sold for a whooping Rs 11.5 cr, making him the second most expensive buy of this year's auction.  Unadkat  played for RPS last term.  Ben Cutting settles for for 2.2 Cr with Mumbai Indians while Delhi Daredevils are fiercely bidding for players and they have bought Dan Christian and Jayant Yadav for 1.5 Cr and 50 Lakh respectively. As per reports, Gurkeerat Singh goes to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 75 lakh while Correy Anderson goes unsold.

Even then, the first day has produced some interesting talking points that might as well set the tone for the 11th season that starts in April. While Indian opener KL Rahul fetched a Rs 11 crore deal with Kings XI Punjab, controversial England all-rounder Ben Stokes triggered a bidding war before going to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 12.50 crore at the IPL auctions. Manish Pandey settled for 11.00 Cr with Sun Risers Hyderabad, Chris Lynn fetched 09.60 Cr with Kolkata Knight Riders, Mitchell Starc for Rs 9.40 cr with Kolkata Knight Riders, Glenn Maxwell settled for 9.00 Cr with Delhi Daredevils while Rashid Khan too fetched 9.00 Cr with Sun Risers Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Chris Gayle, an established T20 player, surprisingly found no bidders despite being a big draw for around last seven seasons of the cash-rich league. Along with Gayle, Joe Root, Martin Guptill, James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga, Ishant Sharma  went unsold on Day 1 of the VIVO IPL 2018 Auction.
