Ahead of International Friendship Day 2019 on Sunday, August 4, ICC shared a post on their social media platforms. The post consisted of photos of cricketer pairs who are very close friends on and off the field. The post has four pairs of international cricketers- Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, Sri Lanka’s cricketers Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, Australia's cricketers Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis, West Indies' cricketers Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo. Rift in Indian Cricket Team Dressing Room? The post was shared by ICC on their Twitter and Instagram handles. The global cricket board also urged cricket fans to tag their best friends forever (BFF) on the occasion of #InternationalFriendshipDay. “These friendships started on the field but didn't end there. Tag your cricket BFF this #InternationalFriendshipDay!” ICC wrote along with the post. Have a look.

All four sets of cricketers are wearing their national jerseys in the photos. Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene are two former legendary cricketers of Sri Lanka who also captained the Sri Lanka national team. Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh are two people known to have a close friendship. Both are Punjab based cricketers and their chemistry is something quite popular among Indian cricket fans. Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo are two popular West Indies' cricketers who are astonishing all-rounders. Dwayne Bravo has retired from international cricket but is active in T20 tournaments around the world. Bravo plays for Chennai Super Kings in IPL while Kieron Pollard plays for Mumbai Indians. Adam Zampa and Marcus Stoinis are both actively part of Australia national cricket team and both also play in IPL. Meanwhile, Tuesday, July 30 is the International Day of Friendship while International Friendship Day 2019 is will be celebrated on August 4, 2019.
