The I League 2018-19 season for the Red and Golden Brigade, ended at a low note as they fell one point short of Champions Chennai City. East Bengal had 42 points whereas Chennai had 43 points. East Bengal has not won a title since last 15 years and now pins up hopes on the players for the upcoming season. India players like Naorem Tondomba Singh, Pintu Mohata, Abhishek Ambekar, Boithang Haokip, and Lalthuammawia Ralte will be playing for the club in the upcoming season. Skipper Lalrindika Ralte has also been an extension for a couple of years.
