Argentina managed to secure a one goal lead over Nigeria in their last Group stage clash and entered the last 16 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup held in Russia. Their cause was also helped by Croatia winning their match against Iceland. There were tears shed all around the stadium by fans, tears of joy, disbelief and relief by the Argentina fans and tears of sorrow, dejection and despondency by the Nigerian fans. However, amid all the joy, there was some cause of worry for Argentina as their footballing legend, Diego Maradona, had to be attended by paramedics after Argentina's victory.

The 57-year-old, who has been struggling with health issues for some time now, needed help to move freely and could be seen struggling before he "collapsed" in the sitting area in St Petersburg Stadium.

According to media reports, he was provided immediate medical assistance by Russian paramedics and also had to be taken to a nearby hospital.

But there are varying reports on the 'Hand of God' player being admitted to a hospital. The Argentina media is largely denying the news saying that Maradona was treated in the stadium itself. Earlier in the match, around the 25th minute, he was also seen dancing in the gallery:

Maradona's celebrations and dejection have been animated as always and his celebration after the deciding goal scored by Marcos Rojo has gone viral.

Maradona was also seen posing and flashing his middle finger in the aggressive gesture he made as part of the goal celebration. His gesture has come under huge criticism and is being derided by one and all. The legend has come under the spotlight again, for his 'hand' gesture. 'Hand of God', anyone?
