The Indian football team scripted history by with a draw during the match against Qatar in Doha. After a heart-breaking loss against Oman by 2-1 in the first game of the FIFA 2022 Qualifiers, the Blue Tigers took on Qatar in the second game. Post winning the game, it was Sandesh Jhingan who led the chants for the side and celebrated the draw with the crowd. Right from the start of the game, team Qatar was on an attacking mode but the Indian defenders stood tall and held them throughout the game. The last time the two teams met in 1996, team Qatar had thrashed India by 6-0. The Indian football team began the Viking Thunderclap in synchronisation to the fans.
