But the Red Devils are facing tough competition from Manchester City as they had also put on a bid for the England defender. But as per Sky Sports, the transfer rumours for United are getting louder with each passing day. Manchester United have moved ahead of Manchester City in the pursuit of Harry Maguire after upping their bid to £70m for the Leicester City defender, Sky Sports News reports. Until now, both City and United had offered Manchester United Launches £65m fee to the footballer. But now the Red Devils have gone one step ahead and escalated their fee. While it remains unclear if Maguire will join his team for training in the upcoming days, but it is reported that there has been a communication between Man United and Leicester City for a few weeks now. The England footballer is said to be happy with the current club but is quite open to the idea of transfer.

It was in 2017 -2018 in the Premier League season that Leicester City had bought Harry Maguire at the fee of €13.7 million. Ever since Maguire has established himself as one of the prominent defenders in the Premier League. Maguire had produced a series of good performance including FIFA World Cup 2018, EPL and so on.
