Manchester United are close in completing their first signing in the January transfer window as per the latest reports an agreement has been made between the agent of the Sporting Midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United and the transfer could be announced in the coming days. The Premier League side were also interested in signing the Portuguese midfielder last summer but were unable to complete the transfer. United have been in search of a big-name player to bolster their attacking options and the 25-year-old has emerged as the top priority in this winter transfer window. According to famous sports journalist Nicolo Schira, Manchester United have struck a deal with the Portuguese’s agent which will see Fernandes sign with the club until 2025. Red Devil’s search of a new playmaker has led them to Bruno Fernandes who has 22 goal contributions in 23 games so far in the season. It is also believed that Ed Woodward and Co. will lodge a bid of around 65 million pounds later in the day to bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford this January.

Manchester United have been linked with a host of attacking players such as James Maddison and Jack Grealish, however, according to recent reports, the record English champions are all set to bring Fernandes to Manchester this month. The Sporting Lisbon playmaker is expected to sign a new five-year contract with the club and take over the legendary number 7 jersey.
