India’s rising shooting sensation Manu Bhaker has clinched a gold in the ISSF Shooting World Cup Final in China. Bhaker won in the 10-meter pistol shooting event and has bagged the first gold medal for India in the tournament so far. Arunovic Zorana of Serbia bagged the silver medal while the bronze medal was given to Wang Qian of China. Bhaker bagged 244.7 points in the event final which is junior world record as well. Along with that, the 17-year old also became the second Indian after Heena Siddhu to clinch gold at the ISSF World Cup final. Manu Bhaker Clinches Gold in Women’s 10m Air Pistol Event of 2019 Asian Shooting Championships.

Another Indian shooter who was participating in the same event was Yashaswini Deswal who finished in the sixth position with 158.8 points. Before this event, Bhaker was also magnificent in the Asian Shooting Championships where she broke a flurry of records and bagged gold as well. She has even secured an Olympic quota and will aim to put up a brilliant performance in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics too. Earlier in the tournament, the rising Indian star missed out on a spot in the final of the 25m pistol event as she managed to score only 583 points in the qualification round.

Talking about the Olympics, the ongoing tournament is a qualification tournament for the mega event and the Indians will aim to bag as many positions as they could. Earlier, Sourabh Chaudhary also won gold in the 10-meter pistol event as he bagged 245 points. In the 50-meter rifle three-position event, Sanjeev Rajput got a silver medal with 262 points.
