The Team Europe clinched the 2018 Laver Cup by defeating Team World by the score of 13-8 at United Center, Chicago. Going into the Sunday's matches, Team Europe, consisting the likes of 2018 Wimbledon and US Open Champion Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, led their opponents by 7-5 and required two victories to clinch the title.

Team World started the day by winning their doubles match against Team Europe. John Isner and Jack Sock overcame Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev 4-6, 7-6 (2), [11-9]. Later, Federer and Isner faced each other in the singles match with the Swiss maestro prevailing the American 6-7(5) 7-6(6) [10-7]. Federer saved three match points in a dramatic match to help his team be just one win away from winning the tournament.

Alexander Zverev came back from a set down to win against Kevin Anderson 6-7(3) 7-5 10-7 to seal the win for Team Europe. With champions like Federer and Novak Djokovic, the European squad was always going to be tough to beat, but Team World deserve credit to make the contest exciting. The win was the second one in a row for Europe in the Laver Cup, though Team World certainly gave them tough competition. The next year's tournament will definitely prove to be more exciting.
