Authorities in Florida have released police bodycam footage documenting the arrest of golf legend Tiger Woods following a rollover car crash last week. The video, made public by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office on April 2, 2026, shows a disoriented Woods undergoing field sobriety tests after his vehicle struck a trailer and flipped onto its side. The 50-year-old has since pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and has announced an indefinite hiatus from professional golf to seek medical treatment. Tiger Woods Released on Bail: Official Mugshot of Gold Legend Surfaces After DUI Arrest and Rollover Crash in Florida (See Pic)

The Accident and Immediate Aftermath

The crash occurred on March 27, 2026, near Woods’ home on Jupiter Island. According to the arrest affidavit, Woods was driving his Land Rover at high speed when he attempted to pass a pressure-cleaning truck. He clipped the back of the truck's trailer, causing his SUV to veer across the road and roll onto the driver’s side.

In the newly released footage, Woods appears calm but confused as he speaks with deputies. "I looked down at my phone and all of a sudden, boom," he is heard saying. Despite the severity of the rollover, the 15-time major winner managed to crawl out of the wreckage without suffering any major physical injuries.

The bodycam footage also revealed a surprising detail involving a high-profile acquaintance. Shortly after the crash, Woods was seen ending a phone call and casually informed the sheriff’s deputy, 'Yeah, I was just talking with the president,  referring to his long-time friend Donald Trump. Tiger Woods Car Accident: Golf Legend Arrested and Charged With DUI After Car Collision in Florida (Watch Videos).

Woods’ legal team has emphasised his extensive medical history as a factor in his current state. The golfer told authorities he has undergone seven back operations and more than 20 surgeries on his right leg, many stemming from a near-fatal car accident in 2021.
The legal and medical situation has immediate professional consequences. Woods has withdrawn from the 2026 Masters and has been removed from consideration for the 2027 US Ryder Cup captaincy. This marks his fourth significant driving-related incident since 2009.
