New Delhi, April 23: Instagram has launched the Edits standalone app. It is a new video creation app for creators from Meta. The new Instagram app will offer creators an easy way to create and manage videos using advanced tools, similar to those found in TikTok-owned ByteDance’s CapCut. Instagram Edits is available in iOS and Android platforms and all features are free at launch.

The editing features in Edits closely resemble those found in ByteDance’s CapCut. Edits was announced when TikTok and CapCut were temporarily removed from US app stores. When Edits was first announced by Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, recognised the similarities between Edits and CapCut. However, he stated on Threads that Edits will be “more for creators than casual video makers. Not just video editing, but an inspiration tab, idea tracking, and insights built in.” DxGPT: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Announces Launch of AI Tool Backed by OpenAI’s GPT-4o Model To Diagnose Rare Diseases (Watch Video).

Instagram Edits offers features like AI-powered animations, green screen effects, and automatic captions. Edits is available for everyone to use for free, although there may be some paid features introduced in the future. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, mentioned earlier this month that later versions of Edits could offer additional paid features.

Instagram Edits Features

The Edits app includes an "Ideas" tool that enables users to quickly note down ideas for new videos. With the "Green Screen" feature, users can change the background of your videos for creative control. Additionally, the "Timeline" feature will allow users to arrange and modify clips easily. Users can also add automatic captions to videos and integrate music from Instagram's extensive library.

Users can turn static images to videos using AI. Additionally, the app offers "Filters, "Transitions", voiceover effects, and more. The "Insights" feature will also inform users for creative decisions. The "Inspirations" tool will help to explore trending audio and the "Projects" feature will let users to keep all different creations organised and managed in one location. The difference between Edits and CapCut is that Edits allows users to export their videos without any watermarks. OpenAI Would Be Interested in Buying Chrome Browser, ChatGPT Chief Testifies at Google Antitrust Trial in Washington.

Users have the option to share their videos directly to Instagram or Facebook from within the app. Alternatively, there is an option to export the video and also post it on other platforms as well.
