Semiconductor giant Intel Corporation has initiated a new round of permanent workforce reductions, eliminating 52 manufacturing and operational roles across its Santa Clara facilities. The job cuts were disclosed following a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed in California, with the affected employees set to complete their final day on September 30.

The workforce reductions span several key corporate and operational sites across Santa Clara. The remaining reductions are distributed across nearby corporate offices, including 24 staff members at the SC-12 facility on 3600 Juliette Lane, five workers at the SC-9 facility located at 3601 Juliette Lane, and a single employee at the SC-11 office on 2191 Laurelwood Road.
Wider Tech Industry Downsizing in California
Intel's latest downsizing aligns with a broader wave of corporate restructuring across California’s technology and financial sectors. Earlier in the month, digital payments leader PayPal announced plans to lay off 251 employees at its San Jose headquarters. That restructuring impacted multiple senior organizational layers, including 42 senior software engineers, 28 senior engineering managers, middle managers, and corporate directors.
Concurrently, Oracle employees faced sudden workforce reductions when the tech giant issued early-morning termination emails citing organizational shifts. “After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change.
