Apple has officially introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, at the Surprise and Shine event on 9 September 2026. The book-style device marks a major expansion of the iPhone lineup, combining a large inner display with a compact outer screen for everyday use.
The iPhone Duo is built from grade 5 titanium and offered in star white and night sky finishes. It features a custom nano-texture coating to reduce crease visibility and glare, IP68 dust and water resistance, and support for multitasking in various orientations. The iPhone Duo is powered by the A20 Pro chip and offers all-day battery life. It has a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display, the largest on any iPhone, and a 5.4-inch outer display. The dual rear camera system uses 48MP Dual Fusion sensors, while the front camera supports Center Stage. Additional features include a vapor chamber for thermal management, Siri AI, Photographic Styles with texture control, Smart Take, and flexible multitasking that works in any orientation or partially folded position. The device runs a reimagined version of iOS optimised for the foldable form factor.

In the US the iPhone Duo starts at USD 1,999. Official Indian pricing has not been confirmed by Apple. In India, iPhone Duo will be sold at From INR 299900, which the customers can also buy in monthly installment starting INR 48,817 for 6 months. The device will be available from October 23, 2026.
