The massive hiring surge is expected to span across the company’s extensive seller network and logistics ecosystem, preparing businesses for a substantial increase in consumer demand and order volumes across the country.
The employment push will see approximately 6.5 lakh positions created across the seller base, while the logistics arm is projected to account for another 3.75 lakh roles. As per a NDTV Profit report, the initiative highlights the critical role festive sales play in scaling operations for small-town businesses and independent sellers on the digital marketplace. Seller Network and Inventory Expansion
Nearly 1.3 lakh sellers on the platform are expected to onboard temporary workers to handle heightened workloads. These seasonal roles will primarily focus on packaging, manufacturing, production, warehousing, and inventory management as merchants ramp up output and expand their festive catalogues ahead of peak demand.
For many regional merchants operating on Meesho, the festive window represents a crucial period for generating a major share of their annual revenue. Sellers utilize this timeframe to introduce new product lines and build up stock, requiring additional manpower to manage the initial stages of the supply chain.
