NVIDIA-Reliance Partnership: US Tech Giant To Team Up With Mukesh Ambaniās Conglomerate To Boost AI in India, Allow Gujarat Data Center To Use Blackwell Chips
NVIDIA, a US-based chipmaker announced its partnership with Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited to boost adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). The Blackwell chips will be used by the Gujarat' Reliance data centre after its construction is completed.
Mumbai, October 25:Ā Major chip supplier NVIDIA has announced its partnership with Asia's richest person, Mukesh Ambani, to build AI infrastructure andĀ boost the adoption of the technologyĀ in India. The NVIDIA-RelianceĀ Partnership was announced during the NVIDIA AI Summit 2024, held in Mumbai on Thursday. Mukesh Ambani's RelianceĀ Industries Limited would use the latest Blackwell processors from NVIDIA for its data centres.
According to aĀ reportĀ byĀ Fortune, two executivesĀ shared details aboutĀ NVIDIA partnering withĀ Reliance Industries Ltd. in India along with other tech giants like Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The report said that India emerged as a major playerĀ asĀ AI had been adopted by the country's industries in areas like education, agriculture, and manufacturing to boost efficiency. As a result, many tech giants like NVIDIA, Microsoft and Meta beganĀ to understand India as a rapidly growing economy and an alternative to China.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang praised India's development and said, "India produced and exported software...Ā In the future, India will export AI." The NVIDIA Blackwell chips wouldĀ be used by theĀ A 1 gigawatt Reliance data centre, which is under construction in Gujarat state and will become the first to deploy these "powerful" processors.Ā
