OnePlus is reportedly rolling out new software updates for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T smartphones. The new update also brings August 2019 Android security patch as well. Apart from this, the updates also come with bug fixes and improvements, new password setting in Hidden Space and new Fnatic mode for gaming experience. The company is rolling out these updates in a phased manner. The users will be notified as soon as the update is rolled for them. The users can also check the update manually by going to Settings, if they haven't received any notification. OnePlus 6 users are receiving the Oxygen 9.0.8 update whereas the OnePlus 6T users are getting the Oxygen 9.0.16 OS update. The phone maker claims that the OTA update roll out is incremental wherein the update will be initially received by small percentage of users. However, the broader roll out will be done after few days. It is recommended that the users should install the update over a good Wi-Fi network with phone kept on charging.

With the new OS update, both OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T have received August 2019 security patch. As a reminder, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro smartphones were the first devices to get the security update.

The new updates on OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T bring a fix for failing apps, an optimised pocket mode, and a fix for unlocking apps issue via fingerprint when the screen recorder is turned on. The OS update also comes with a new Quick Reply option in Landscape mode, which can be enabled via Settings > Utilities > Quick Reply in landscape.

The latest updates also bring a new password setting in Hidden Space, a new Fnatic mode for an immersive gaming experience, additional Zen mode features, support for DC dimming, and support for VoLTE/VoWiFi for Bouygues. As mentioned, the updates include a slew of general bug fixes and improvements.
